Reluctant to Leave

短暂灿烂的大学时光
我们曾那么率真笑过、哭过
也曾那么痴迷爱过、恨过

In short and brilliant college days,
We've had such sincere laughter and cry,
And we've had such mad love and hate.（*）

青春的色彩
调得多么绚丽斑斓
岁月的歌声
唱得多么欢快嘹亮
缤纷梦想、纯洁友爱
编织生命旋律
浩瀚书海、美丽自然
吮吸天地精华

The colors of youth,
How flowerily and gorgeously they are mixed!
The songs of years,
How joyfully and clangorously they are sung!
In the colorful dreams and pure friendship,
We are waving the beautiful melody of life.
In the vast ocean of books and beautiful nature,
We are sucking the essence of heaven and earth.

庄严的中山陵之巅
金陵城全景收眼底
点燃几多青春豪情
潋滟的玄武湖之畔
欢笑声尽情随波荡
激发几许甜美诗意

On the top of solemn Zhongshan Cemetery,
The whole scene of Jinglin is in our eyes.
How many lofty sentiments of youth are lit!
On the bank of rippling Xuanwu Lake,
Our laughter is poppling along with waves.
How much sweet poetry is inspired!

欧公美文传千古
慕名登临琅琊山
举杯共饮醉翁亭
思古幽情随风扬
瘦西湖柳堤笼烟
栖霞山枫叶羞红
采石矶飞江捉月
欢快踪迹处处留

Ou Yangxiu's beautiful essay has come down through ages,
We are climbing the Lang Ya Mountain out of admiration.
And raising our wineglasses in the Old Drunkard's Pavillion.
The exquisite feelings are fluttering with the wind.
The willow bank of Thin West Lake is mist-covered,
The maple leaves of Xi Xia Mountain turn red for shyness.
The statue of catching the river moon in Cai Shi Ji.
Our joyful footprints are left here and there.

我们欣赏激昂勇敢的风姿
恰似山泉一路欢歌奔远方
不到江海绝不会停留脚步
我们深信未来属于年轻人
坚强意志可征服一切困难
乐观情怀能包容整个世界

We appreciate the impassioned and brave stance,
Just like a mountain spring rushing forward with songs,
Never stopping its steps until it reaches the ocean.
We firmly believe the future will belong to the young,
And the strong will can conquer all difficulties,
The optimistic heart can contain the whole world.

此刻，我们却要挥手告别
美好往昔凝成记忆
禁不住一阵伤感涌上心头
今后，我们就要天各一方
生命前程努力开拓
唯无尽相思连着你我的心

Now, we have to wave our hands and bid farewell,
And the beautiful past has turned into our memory,
A sadness is irresistible to surge in our hearts.
Then, we will live far apart from each other,
And try hard to develop the future of our lives,
Only the endless yearning connects our hearts!

一生中最纯美的时光就在大学时代，那是理想主义旗帜高高飘扬的季节，喜欢读书、思考、做梦、交友，喜欢寄情山水，更喜欢高谈阔论国家大事，虽然观点幼稚可笑，但仍然激情满怀，认为真理就掌握在自己手中，经常有世人皆醉我独醒的良好感觉。在校园那个单纯的环境中建立起来的友情恐怕是最真挚的，所以毕业时离别大家就显得格外伤感，谁都知道那一分别就可能永远天各一方，重逢何其难，古人关于"别"的诗句多不胜数，范淹《别赋》中写道：黯然销魂，唯别而已矣；柳永的《雨霖霖》中也有：人生自古伤离别；最有名的恐怕是苏东坡的《水调歌头》中的名句：人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全；但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。别后相思无尽，唯有对月舒怀聊解思念之情。

说实话，尽管我会偶尔回想起我大学生活的点点滴滴，也许某些人给我留下很深的印象，但我并不希望再与他们见面叙旧，真的，让他们生活在我的记忆中就足够了，正如一句歌词说的：相见不如怀念。记忆中的一切都经过心灵的一番创造，变得缥缈和美丽，我不想去破坏这种由时空距离造成的美感。我对待朋友采取随缘的态度，人生的每个阶段我都会找到陪我走完这段人生旅程的朋友，人随着时间的流逝，生活的变迁会发生很多很多的变化，包括思想、性格，以及对人生的态度等等，因此即使是真挚的友情也并不容易天长地久，而且我从来不奢望任何东西能够永恒，只是在我拥有的时候我会好好珍惜和体会。

逃避现实有两种方法：奔向未来，对未来充满幻想；怀念过去，对过去充满眷念。真正直面人生的人是值得钦佩的勇士，面对现实决不采取逃避的态度，他会尽力去解决好他遇到的每个问题。

1、箴言传千古。 A good maxim is never out of season. 因此，把"欧公美文传千古"改译为"Ou Yangxiu's beautiful essay is never out of season"。

2、禁不住愤怒涌上心头。The anger swept over him. 因此，把"禁不住一阵伤感涌上心头"改译为"A sadness is sweeping over our hearts"。（一阵伤感袭上心头。）

（*）原译用hatred，经Bluebird批评指正，改为hate。

bluebird:

如上，不敢苟同hatred一词，据"Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English"，释义为：an angry feeling of extreme dislike for someone or something

同学间的恨不可能上升到这种大恨的高度，窍以为hatred当为国家之仇，民族之恨，比如日本帝国主义侵略之恨。当然，hatred也指人与人之间长时间形成的深仇大恨。用于同学间，似乎不太妥当？

建议用unhappiness, annoyance, hate等代替。同学之间大不了一点误会而生不快，不会一辈子记住，往往数天即可冰释前嫌。因此，建议译为"不快、烦闷、厌恶"等为妥，与Love对应，普通意义的hate可能为上选。

也据"Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English"，Hate: to dislike someone very much and feel angry towards them
